Intro to the UN Concert

Part of the introduction of the UN Concert. The girl here is singing the PNG national anthem. Really a great song- rhymes and everything! I'm a little jealous of their anthem. Also, they presented flags from lots of countries, with the presenter dressed in traditional garb. The crowd cheered loudly for the U.S. (yay!), and the presenter was wearing jeans, a plaid shirt, and a baseball cap. Very entertaining. :)

Before and After the UN Concert

The bird, Koki, eating his corn for dinner

A pic through the windshield, but this is the police force in an open-air pick-up truck. Yikes- not me!

This is the school's track. I still can't believe that it's grass. Doesn't that slow you down a lot?

The incredible fireworks at the end of the show

Inside Airways

The restaurant had these linen panels that moved back and forth, providing a nice breeze

Here is the wheel and lever that moved the linen panels

Cool ceiling and post in the foyer

The big cheese! This, ladies and gentlemen, is John Nonggor- owner of the house, provider of all things, and all-around fantastic man of Papua New Guinea.

The runways, as viewed from the restaurant. Unfortunately, only a few little planes left while we were dining.

Gorgeous pic of the mountains and airport

The hills were breathtaking
